The Hyundai Creta Electric has been officially introduced and is poised to be the most economical all-electric vehicle from the South Korean manufacturer in India to date. The Creta Electric (Creta EV) will enter the competitive electric compact SUV market in the nation, maintaining the design aesthetics of the standard Hyundai Creta. Nevertheless, it incorporates unique features tailored for electric vehicles that set it apart from its internal combustion engine (ICE) version. Let us examine the design of the Creta EV through a series of 10 images.
The Hyundai Creta Electric showcases a revamped front design, characterized by a pixelated pattern that replaces the traditional grille, along with a centrally located charging flap adorned with the ‘Hyundai’ logo. Beneath the sealed grille, the vehicle features a newly designed bumper that incorporates active air flaps, which serve to improve airflow for battery cooling while also boosting the aerodynamic performance of the electric SUV. The model maintains the inverted L-shaped connected LED daytime running lights and headlight enclosures found in the standard Creta.
The Creta Electric maintains the profile of the conventional Creta, showcasing identical window lines and silver trim beneath the doors. The roof and pillars are presented in a black finish, complemented by outside rearview mirrors that share the same color. It is equipped with newly designed 17-inch alloy wheels that enhance its aerodynamic efficiency.
At the rear, the Creta Electric mirrors the appearance of its internal combustion engine counterpart, featuring design elements such as inverted L-shaped connected LED tail lights and a rear bumper that includes a silver skid plate.
Similar to the standard Creta, the all-electric variant boasts a dual-tone black and white interior theme. While the dashboard retains a familiar look, the steering wheel is a newly designed 3-spoke model, drawing inspiration from the Hyundai Ioniq 5. The lower center console has also been modified, featuring revised controls specific to the electric model.

Additionally, it incorporates a stalk-type drive mode selector positioned behind the steering wheel, akin to that found in the Hyundai Ioniq 5.
The Creta Electric is equipped with the same dual-screen configuration on the dashboard as its standard version. It also includes features such as a panoramic sunroof and V2L (vehicle-to-load) charging capability, enabling users to power external devices using the vehicle’s battery.
Battery Pack And Range
The Creta EV is being offered with two battery pack options. The specifications are as follows:
Battery Pack | 42 kWh (Medium Range) | 51.4 kWh (Long Range) |
ARAI-claimed Range | 390 km | 473 km |
That said, the Creta Electric’s battery pack can be juiced up from 10-80 percent in 58 minutes with a DC fast charger, while an 11 kW AC charger can charge the battery from 10 percent to full in 4 hours.
The anticipated starting price of the Hyundai Creta Electric is projected to be Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with the Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra BE 6, MG ZS EV, as well as the forthcoming Maruti e Vitara.
