The eagerly awaited Royal Enfield Himalayan 750 has been observed undergoing testing in Europe, and it appears that the production phase is still some time away.
Royal Enfield consistently generates excitement with its new offerings. With the upcoming launches of the Classic 650 and the Scram 440, the company is preparing to introduce its next model: the Royal Enfield Himalayan 750. The Himalayan 750 is currently in the testing phase, as evidenced by the recent sighting of a test mule in Europe, indicating that it remains distant from production readiness. The anticipated launch of this flagship adventure touring motorcycle is expected in 2026.
The Himalayan 750 features the characteristic tall ADV design, reminiscent of the Husqvarna Norden 901. It is equipped with a round LED headlight, a compact windscreen, and quarter fairings on the sides, marking a first for Royal Enfield’s ADV lineup. The profile presents a clean aesthetic, and although many design elements are obscured by black camouflage, it bears similarities to the existing Himalayan 450, particularly in its split seat configuration and the two-in-one upswept exhaust. The rear section incorporates LED indicators that also function as the taillight, mirroring the design of the Himalayan 450. The ergonomics appear to be upright and conducive to comfort.
The test mule is likely powered by a 750 cc parallel-twin engine, which may feature liquid cooling and will differ from the current 650 cc engine. This new engine is also being evaluated in the latest Interceptor and Continental GT models. While specific details regarding engine output remain unclear, it is anticipated to exceed the 47 hp and 52 Nm provided by the 650 cc variant. The new Himalayan 750 is expected to be equipped with a 6-speed gearbox featuring a slip and assist clutch, along with a robust aluminum bash plate for engine protection.
The forthcoming segment presents intriguing developments. The Himalayan 750 is equipped with a 19-inch tubed spoke wheel at the front and a 17-inch tubed spoke wheel at the rear. It is anticipated that tubeless or alloy wheels may be available at the time of its launch. This configuration suggests that the model is designed primarily as a road-oriented touring motorcycle rather than a purely off-road adventure vehicle. Whether Royal Enfield will introduce a variant featuring a 21-inch wheel and off-road specific components remains uncertain at this time.
The motorcycle appears to feature a completely new frame, chassis, and swingarm, along with twin disc brakes at the front and a single disc brake at the rear. The front suspension is expected to include adjustable upside-down forks, while the rear is fitted with a monoshock, with a travel likely to be around 200 mm or less.
Anticipate that the Himalayan 750 will incorporate advanced features such as full LED lighting and electronic rider aids, including switchable ABS and traction control. The test model has been observed with a rectangular digital display that prominently shows the gear position. The possibility of including riding modes is not entirely out of the question.
Upon its launch, this motorcycle is set to become the flagship adventure bike for Royal Enfield, competing with models such as the Triumph Tiger Sport 660 and potentially the BMW F 450 GS, which is expected to be released around the same time.
