Bajaj Auto has recently introduced the new-generation Chetak 35 Series in India, with a starting price of Rs. 1.20 lakh (ex-showroom). This electric scooter is offered in eight color options across two variants. Additionally, there is a third variant, the Chetak 3503, for which Bajaj has not yet disclosed the price and specifications.

Both the Chetak 3501 and Chetak 3502 are offered in five distinct colors each. However, certain paint options are shared between the two models, while others are unique to each variant. The 3501, being the premium trim, is available in Pista Green, Hazelnut, Indigo Metallic, Brooklyn Black, and Matte Scarlett Red. In contrast, the mid-range 3502 variant features Indigo Metallic, Brooklyn Black, Matte Charcoal Grey, and Cyber White.

While the Bajaj Chetak 35 Series may appear similar in design to other models, it is built on a completely new frame and is equipped with a new motor and controller, along with a larger battery pack mounted on the floorboard. The scooter boasts a longer wheelbase, and the seat length has been extended by over 80mm.

The Chetak is driven by a new 4kW permanent magnet motor, enabling the scooter to reach a maximum speed of 73 kph. It is powered by a 3.5kW battery pack, which is claimed to provide a range of 153 km on a full charge. The top-tier model includes a 950W onboard quick charger, capable of charging the scooter from 0 to 80 percent in just three hours.

Bajaj asserts that the new Chetak offers the largest storage capacity in the electric vehicle segment, with 35 liters of boot space. In terms of features, it is equipped with a five-inch TFT touchscreen display that includes integrated maps from Mappls, while the 3502 variant is fitted with a similar TFT display that does not support touch functionality.
